One of the very first programs I owned was a landscape creation application called KPT Bryce, originally developed from fractal geometry applications created by Ken Musgrave and turned to landscape generation by Eric Wenger, with the GUI designed by Kai Krause, and released by Krause's company, HSC Software, which ultimately became MetaCreations. It was a wonderful program, but MetaCreations decided to go in a different direction and sold off all their cool programs. For awhile Bryce languished at Corel, but was finally sold to Daz, and they released Bryce 6 in 2007. You can do some amazing things, not just landscapes, nor even just 3D objects, but also strange and fascinating surreal images.
Images made principally in Bryce, with only a little help from Photoshop.
Images where Bryce was the principal creation tool, with an emphasis on 3D objects created in Bryce or imported from other applications.
A tribute to a painting teacher who believed in doing a whole series to develop an idea. Thanks Walt.
Bryce has trees, and atmospheric effects, and, well lots of things to use to create interesting virtual realities.
