Everyone thinks of Photoshop as a tool for doing touch-ups of graphics created elsewhere. But you can create de novo right in Photoshop, especially if you have some fancy third party plugins. I used to do this frequently, when KPT Filters was new and great, but somewhere along the line it got less useful and I had less time. Someday I'll do some more with this. And someday I'll have time to sit down and draw too..... Until then here's a sampling of what can be done.

Created with KPT filters, then clarified with Photoshop. |
Just playing with the possibilities of Texture Explorer in the KPT filters, then clarifying the image with standard Photoshop tools. Reminds me of those ceilings in Baroque Palaces, except the figures seem to be animals in search of their savior rather than people and cavorting cherubim. |
Started with a photo of rocks, carved in Photoshop. |
