I scanned a short piece of the backbone of something unknown, but fairly small.

Then in Photoshop I began to experiment with various filters and plugins.

I put the effects on different layers along the way, and had the layers use various apply modes.

The results were sometimes startling, sometimes subtle, and I never did decide which one I liked the best, but here's one of my favorites.
