Looking toward hall entry from the front door, March 2007.

I started with the hallway in 2003, then moved on to the Dining Room, finished the basics in the Winter of 2004. It was here that I got the idea of insetting the carpet in the floor tile, so you can't trip on it, as it is the same height as the tile, and it can't move because it is embedded in the tile. I had decided I hate vacuuming and there would be no more wall to wall carpeting, but discovered the acoustics in the room were then too bright, hard, and echoing without something to absorb sound. By using area rugs embedded in the tile this problem is solved, and any time I want a new look I can just buy a new rug.
