I've discovered in the course of this renovation that I love making patterns with tile on the floor. I was worried about how to layout tile for the walls around the tub--I like to stare at my arrangement for awhile, do some rearranging, add different tiles, and then decide (see the next page). Obviously this wouldn't work for the walls. But with some old art supplies and a modern version of Photoshop I solved that problem. Plumbing however isn't so easily disposed of. Friends suggested calling a plumber, but I decided wait and see if I could manage without breaking anything, either plumbing pieces or me pieces. I more or less succeeded, and love the way the project turned out.
Getting Started: First paint, then the fun part, laying out the tile for the floor.
More Tile: Doing the wall also involves tile, so it outght to be fun, but just how do you "layout" something that is vertical?
Tiling the wall: Having figured it out, I begin actually doing it.
Final Touches: I finished, and in record time at that. After my guests left I added the final touch and redid the vanity.
