The Master Bedroom: Flooring

Here are some Photoshopped shots: above is a panorama of the state of things on October 1, looking from the bathroom door at the corner of the south and east walls. You can see the rug that I've bought, that the switch plates have been put on, you'll also notice the dresser (without the mirror) and that I still haven't figured out where to put the saddle. The photo to the right shows a composite I made to see what it will look like from the hall doorway, looking at the corner of the south and west walls, with light tile on the the floor and a bed in the corner.

Spring 2008

The above might be titled something like "Oh, The Horror!" It is the state of the far end of the studio, with everything, including the saddle, stuffed into it while I work on the bedroom. It has been that way for SIX MONTHS. You see, my new computer arrived on my birthday, October 3rd. About the time I got everything set-up and moved and all tricked out to my satisfaction, the new Mac OS, Leopard, arrived on October 26th, and Apple gave me a free copy, so of course I had to get THAT all set-up, and learned, and tricked out, and...well, by then it was the dead of winter and I no longer felt like doing any work. So here it is Spring 2008, and I'm finally getting back to work. Below you see the flooring in progress. I just need to get the tiles down on the bathroom door section of the floor, lay the rug and put in some decorative tile around it, grout everything, recondition the baseboards and put them back, buy a bed, and move the furniture back in. Oh, yeah, and put up some curtains while I figure out how to build some interior wooden shutters. That all needs to be done by April 8th, when my friend Ken is supposed to visit. I wonder if I'll make it?

And by March 27th all the tile, except the decorative edges that will go around the carpet, were actually attached to the floor. Furthermore the tile along the hall door and closet side were grouted. While it will be close, I'm beginning to think I may actually get it done by April 8th. Maybe.
