Spring 2007

azalea In the Outback
Meanwhile, out in the back yard Spring has also arrived. I bought a new azalea to replace the one that had to be destroyed: the container was just a giant root ball, with nothing left to hold water for said roots. Most of the new azalea's flowers are variegated, but there is one branch with solid red flowers, makes a nice contrast. And, of course, the clivia are again in bloom. I love snapping photos of the clivia, and this year I have 14 stalks of flowers to choose from. Here's one of them.

And Spring in the Front

hyacinth blue
white red
And in front, more of the red, white and blue theme. The hyacinths make a lovely, and fragrant display. Unfortunately they only last for a matter of a few days. But the Candy Tuft and the Geranium are forever. Provided they don't freeze--both of these plants replaced ones that did.
