Landscaping the Front Yard: Part 2

pano
Late spring 2006, one citrus tree in the ground, the Lemon tree still in its pot.
pano
May 2007, Lemon Tree growing, Washington navel looking worse, allyssum not yet killed by bugs, and trellis sitting where I originally wanted to put it. For some reason the Ornamental Garlic is in bloom already, and the bottle brush hasn't regrown from its trim job the previous fall. I have started the second tier and put in another Washington navel orange, which has done better than the first one.
pano
Lemon tree very big--not to mention producing almost a dozen lemons, and the Valencia orange is growing well, the two Washington navel oranges and the lime, not so much. The Valencia did produce two oranges, and the second Washington navel seems to be doing better than the first. The Lemon tree does not seem to understand that it is supposed to be a dwarf tree. The Valencia did very well with flowers and baby little fruit buds, but doesn't seem to grasp the idea of actual fruit production. The lime appears to me to have turned into something feral and strange.

Lemon tree, bearing some fruit, May 2009.

Potted plant and tiny orange tree, 2006. In 2009 it is about the same.

But the wall of green behind it is the orange tree.

Looking west 11 May 2007, second Washington navel is planted.

The fruit of the lemon, five of them, 2009.

Same west view, 2009, only much of view obscured by Valencia Orange and gigantic Lemon.
