pano

Here we are in deep mid-winter, enjoying some amazing weather. I'm getting ready to extend the walkway down to the sidewalk. Meanwhile quite a few things are in bloom, and both the lemon and Valencia orange tree are producing fruit, some is ready to eat right now.

flowers

The petunias suddenly went completely crazy.

flowers

They look nice with the new candy tuft though.

fruit

There is strange fruit growing on my lemon tree.

fruit

For scale, here's my hand on a Valencia orange.

fruit

Perhaps this gigantic fruit is actually some sort of a pummelo.

fruit

And holding one of the normal lemons.

fruit

An example of a sliced pummelo.

I had intended to wait and see what happened when the mystery fruit got ripe, until someone stole the batch of the fruit growing at the front of the tree. So I picked one from the back and sliced it open. I also tasted it--it was unbelievably sour and tart. So I expect the thief got no joy from their crime.

Damn kids! Stay out my yard! Yeah, I've turned into an old fart.

flowers

One of my mystery fruits sliced. It's clearly a pummelo.

fruit

The Valencia orange tree is finally producing some fruit.

flowers

But the bulbs still aren't doing much--a double daffodil is about it.

flowers

Here's a red geranium and a white petunia, together.

flowers

White candy tuft, blue pansies, and some red peppers. Red and edible!

flowers

Some more red: trailing red verbena in a pot.

flowers

And vivid red dianthus.
