The end is near: I need to finish putting in pebbles, and put in a few more bulbs and their ground cover. And then decide just exactly what I'm going to do under the loquat tree. But the end of the first row is actually in sight. The skinny planter will have bright red hyacinths popping up in the Spring, and the bulbed should be dominated by daffodils and a miscellany of smaller things. I hope it looks spectacular! A pair of small boys (very small, maybe 5 or 6) were dashing back and forth on the sidewalk as I was finishing work on December 1st. After a bit they started to wave as they went by, then one offered a cheery hello, and finally, to my surprise, he said I had a nice house. I think he just meant he liked the flowers. Anyway, the older boys who go by are more prone to complimenting me on my mustang, that being more manly than admiring flowers or a house. |
