Redoing the Front Yard: The Mini-Orchard

While I have at least gotten started, there's a long way to go. I had hoped to have the first tier finished in the Spring, but the weather did not cooperate. It was cold and wet and unappealing most the time. And now, early June, it is too dang hot to work or plant. So I've only gotten two dwarf citrus in--a Valencia orange and a Washington navel orange--plus some alyssum as ground cover.

That Was June, This is September

You'll notice that in three months I haven't made a whole lot of progress. Blame it on the weather, I do. There are now three dwarf citrus trees, the third is next to the new planter, it is a lemon tree. There's a second new planter which I finally got finished at the end of September. I got the second row of stepping stones mostly laid, still have 6 more to go to make the path turn and connect to the cement walkway in front of the hose. The pebbles stretch between the terra cotta planters, and there will be a small border of pebbles in front of the stepping stones. I now have red, white and blue flowers in the terra cotta planters, in honor of--well, you know. The other major difference between June and September is the presence of my new Mustang. Oh, and that out of control bush/tree at edge of the driveway is almost all gone.
