Interior, Oplontis
We stayed at a hotel across the bay from Naples, which had a great view of the city, the bay, and the volcano cone. We only did one day in Naples itself, where we had a wonderful and very fun lunch at a restaurant near a marvelous, and quite over the top, fountain. The little town we stayed at, like so many many places throughout Europe, had a World War I monument. I photograph these whenever I find them. There are several keys to the nature of our present world, and one of them is that terrible senseless war. Oplontis, a fairly recently discovered--and still being excavated--Roman villa, was interesting, but hard to to photograph. I got one mysterious looking shot through fogged glass.
