First is documentary evidence that three of the group could not make it through a month without the Internet. I was the only hold out. I did NOT refrain from chocolate however, nor give up smoking. Ed became the resident expert on maps and navigation, Bruce caught him doing his thing in Umbertide. Ken caught me intently cracking eggs--hey, it required concentration to prepare the eggs for the truffles, right? I caught a chatty moment in Gubbio, and Ken got Bruce and his friend Mario chatting in Sienna while Ed and I stared off into space. Finally, Ken and Ed have a serious conversation in Corciano, and Ken also smokes, but only when in Tuscany. |
