Marymoor Park has an offleash dog park area, which is huge, well used, and very pretty. Alice the dog loves the place, and every one else is fond of it too. We took Alice for a romp there, and, of course, Anne brought her camera. She hated my idea of having myself photographed among the greenery, loves to snap photos of Fiona in the climbing tree, and took a snap of my brother in his spiffy summer hat. We also did an outing to Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle, where she got the above portrait of Walter Kasten, who is Hank and my uncle. He lives in Springfield, Illinois and wanted to meet his grand-niece Fiona, so Hank organized a little family reunion in Seattle.

Louis and Melinda run the artisan shoe store the Rubaiyat in downtown Seattle, where they make custom shoes for those interested in either fun and unusual shoes (works of art for the feet, actually), or those such as my brother and myself who cannot find manufactured shoes that actually fit. Above Melinda is in the process of getting custom measurements of the odd sized feet of myself, Walter, and my brother, while Louis observes it all.

Pine Lake Resort

If you have the latest and greatest computer, and Quicktime, plus a fairly speedy Internet connection, you can take a look at some movies I made based on Recent Visits to Pine Lake Resort (AKA my brother's house). I used Quartz Composer to make RumTumFam, using photos mainly from Summer 2007, and the original Quartz Composition actually functions as a screensaver (I converted it to a medium sized movie). The Frog Family used many of the same photos, but I was trying out the new iMovie from iLife 08, and exported it as a mid-size movie. Both actually are fairly large: as in 5 to 6MBs. To see them, click on the titles. I've made smaller versions, less than 2MBs each, which should play on any computer that has Quicktime installed. Click the image to see the small versions.
